Travelling exhibition at Great Sandhills Museum until August 4, 2025

Ace Academy: Flight Experience

The Great Sandhills Museum is proud to host the travelling Exhibition Ace Academy: Flight Experience, produced by the Canada Aviation and Space Museum.

Ace Academy is a digital interactive exhibition space where players enter an immersive environment and activate the intuitive experience by simply moving their bodies. Authentic aircraft imagery takes centre stage as players fly a realistic rendering of the the Canada Aviation and Space Museum’s Sopwith Ship Camel biplane. Moving their arms up and down and tilting their bodies, players manoeuvre an airplane onscreen, while dodging enemy aircraft and lining themselves up to fire.

Museum Exhibits

Take a walk down memory lane and stroll the wooden boardwalks of the museum. Inside you’ll find 11 room displays, each depicting a different theme.

Learn about the natural forces that shape the landscape and the people who settled here. Uncover the area’s railroad beginnings and the impact of the Empress Line on early pioneers.

Explore the historical village outdoors and discover the barn, church, antique machinery. Take a walk through our flower gardens of both domestic and wild varieties.

While in Sceptre, we hope you enjoy our collection of outdoor mural art, the world’s tallest metal wheat sculpture and our cartoon character fire hydrants.
